Free Brain Games for Adults

Short games for memory, attention and mental math, plus guided breathing — all playable right here in your browser, free, with no sign-up. Each one is a game from the Memo app, with a guide to how it works and how to get better at it.

Memory games

Hold positions, words and patterns in mind — three different kinds of memory.

Attention and speed

Fast decisions under a little pressure.

Math and logic

Numbers against the clock, and puzzles you solve step by step.

Calm and focus

Not games exactly: short guided sessions to slow down. Free in the app, too.

Play them every day in Memo

A few minutes a day, one card per game. Memo keeps your best score for each game every day and charts it against your first try, so you can see real progress rather than one lucky round.

Questions people ask

Are these brain games really free?

Yes. Every game on this site plays free in your browser, with no sign-up and no download. They are the same games as in the Memo app, where your daily best scores are saved and charted over time.

Which brain game should I start with?

Start with whichever sounds most fun — you will play it more. If you want one quick check of memory, try the Chimp Test; for attention, the Stroop test; for a calm reset, box breathing.

Do brain games improve memory?

You will reliably get better at the games you practice. Whether that carries over to everyday memory and thinking is much less certain: large reviews of brain-training research find weak evidence for transfer to untrained tasks. Play them because they are enjoyable and a good daily focus habit.

How long should I play brain games each day?

A few minutes is enough. Memo is built around rounds of a minute or two, about five minutes for a few games. Short, regular sessions are easier to keep up than long ones.
